0,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_00","Inspector Hildibrand would have you accompany him to Coerthas."
1,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_01","Having received the blessings of Lady Durilda and Inspector Briardien, Inspector Hildibrand wishes to depart for Coerthas at once. Journey to the Observatorium and seek out any sellswords in Lady Durilda's employ."
2,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_02","Hildibrand quickly identifies one of Lady Durilda's sellswords, though the man is quick to deny the inspector's assertions. Inspector Briardien subsequently appears and explains the situation, much to the sergeant's chagrin. Recognizing you to be the most competent member of your party, the sergeant then asks that you assist one of his subordinates near the Observatorium's east gates."
3,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_03","The snows of Coerthas can play tricks on one's eyes, as you soon observe. While the sellsword watchman ventures outside to investigate something suspicious, Inspector Hildibrand nearly mistakes Gilgamesh for the thieving duelist. Electing to search a different area, Hildibrand and Nashu wander off. Follow them and see if their search yields anything of interest."
4,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_04","Ellie astutely observes that Inspector Hildibrand is unlikely to find the duelist <Emphasis>inside</Emphasis> the walls of the Observatorium. That being said, it would be dangerous to survey the wilderness unarmed─which is why Hildibrand is grateful when Nashu returns with a curious “spear” in her possession. The inspector immediately recognizes the weapon as the selfsame one which helped him journey to Dalamud five years ago. Precisely what inexplicable series of circumstances led to this reunion would doubtless make for an engrossing tale─alas, there are more pressing matters at hand. Survey the wilderness east of the Observatorium with the inspector and his assistant."
5,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_05","Fate can be ever so cruel. The budding friendship between Hildibrand and Gilgamesh is torn asunder when the warrior recognizes the inspector's spear as his own cherished weapon. What small hopes for reconciliation remain are further crushed when Ellie and Inspector Briardien arrive and identify Gilgamesh as the nefarious thieving duelist─a charge the warrior both confirms and denies. Distraught at being misunderstood by those whom he had come to trust, Gilgamesh flees to the south as Hildibrand gives chase─and so must you."
6,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_06","Outside the gates to Griffin Crossing, you find an incapacitated Inspector Hildibrand. Imploring you to stop his misguided former friend, you begin to search the bridge, and quickly find Gilgamesh waiting for you. The warrior proposes what he deems a duel─though his terms allow for you to summon allies. Triumph, and he will yield the spear. But should you fail, your weapons will be forfeit.
※Battle on the Big Bridge can be accessed via the Duty Finder."
7,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_07","Declaring that you have received a sufficient beating, Gilgamesh withdraws without claiming your weapon. Inform Inspector Briardien of all that has transpired."
8,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_08","Annoyed by yet resigned to Gilgamesh's escape, Inspector Briardien deems it safe to proceed with the Treaty-Blade's delivery. Proceed to Vesper Bay so that you may be present for the occasion."
9,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_09","Lady Durilda gleefully accepts the Treaty-Blade and takes her leave─only to appear a second time inquiring as to the whereabouts of her weapon. Inspector Briardien immediately deduces that the first Lady Durilda was in fact the thief who sent the challenge in disguise, and that Gilgamesh was a different thief who had no interest in the Treaty-Blade. The flying card which then embeds itself in the inspector's forehead appears to substantiate this theory, as the words writ upon it match the style of the previous challenge. “I shall come to claim the lapis maiden's virtue,” it reads, a bold challenge Inspector Briardien is glad to accept─until Inspector Hildibrand preempts his declaration, driving his rival into a frenzy. As the two men circle Lord Lolorito's statue in the square, Maria bursts into laughter, and her normally stern mother soon does the same. Despite failing to protect the Treaty-Blade, it would seem Inspector Hildibrand achieved an arguably more worthwhile measure of success."

49,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_001","Naturally, should the situation demand improvisation, we are to disregard those instructions. Any questions? No? Then let us sally forth at once!"

52,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_020","Hail to thee, fellow servant of justice! I take it you are one of the many tasked with transporting a counterfeit Treaty-Blade?"

59,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_025","Mayhap keeping active will help me to stay warm. Oh, and should I chance to find the thieving duelist, I will of course summon you─after administering the requisite beating, hah hah!"
60,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_026","Good, you're still─ Hm? Wasn't there someone else with you a moment ago?"
61,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_027","Ah, you speak of Greg! He ventured outside the gates mere moments before your arrival, full eager to catch the thief─as are we! Come, Nashu! We too must answer the call of duty!"
62,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_028","...You look like you might actually be useful. Why don't you have a word with my man near the east gates? We're undermanned over there."
63,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_035","Remember: we're looking for a brute in red who wields a halberd. You see the bastard, you come to me─no heroics. We take him together, understand?"

66,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_MIMAWARI01318_000_51","I don't think me eyes were playin' tricks on me, but there's only one way to be sure. You wait here."

68,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_53","What is it, Nashu!? Pray tell me what you see!"
69,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_54","Ah hah! I see you, demon bird! You will not escape me this time!"
70,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_54","Why, hello there, my friends! Is aught amiss?"
71,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_55","Oh, it's just Greg! For a moment, I thought you might have spotted our thief. Come, Nashu, we have lingered here overlong. We must egress posthaste!"
72,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_065","Hm. There is naught out of the ordinary here either..."
73,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_066","No luck, hm?"
74,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_067","We have scoured every ilm of this area to no avail. I can only conclude that, having learned that his opponent was to be the legendary inspector Hildibrand, the duelist renounced his criminal ways and retreated into hiding."
75,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_068","Or perhaps he is waiting patiently <Emphasis>outside</Emphasis> the walls for more wagons to leave? That being said, should you decide to venture into the wilderness, you had best arm yourself with more than your...wits."
76,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_069","I appreciate your concern, Miss Ellie, but a gentleman should abstain from violence unless absolutely necessary."
77,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_070","I'll fight for you, Inspector! I even found a weapon to use!"
78,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_071","By the Twelve, is that the selfsame spear which propelled me to the red moon!? Wherever did you find it?"
79,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_72","It was buried in the snow!"
80,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_073","Well, one cannot ignore the will of destiny! Return it to me, Nashu!"
81,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_074","Though I will still endeavor to avoid fisticuffs, I will be duly armed should worse come to worst. Now then─we begin our search for the duelist to the east of the Observatorium!"
82,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_070","Come now, how hard can it be to find a large man dressed in red in <Emphasis>Coerthas</Emphasis>?"
83,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_075","Take your post, my good <If(PlayerParameter(4))>woman<Else/>man</If>, and entrust your safety to me! Inspector Hildibrand is ready for battle!"
84,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_080","Cor, it's cold out here!"
85,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_100","...Wherefore art thou, my nefarious nemesis?"
86,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_101","'Twas not the selfsame creature, but one of many. Nevertheless, I <Emphasis>know</Emphasis> that my weapon is close by."
87,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_102","You sense it, too, don't you?"
88,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_105","Greg, I've been meaning to ask─why do you covet this weapon so?"
89,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_106","If you but beheld it, you would understand. In some ways it bore resemblance to a spear, but in other respects it was quite different."
90,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_106","It was crowned with a magnificent axe blade..."
91,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_110_106","To which was welded a musket barrel..."
92,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_107","'Twas one of the first weapons I added to my collection after arriving in these lands. Ah, how I yearn to reclaim it─the strongest of spears!"
93,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_108","That weapon of yours bears a striking...a striking resemblance to...to..."
94,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_108","The strongest of spears!"
95,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_109","I-I claimed this weapon five years ago! Surely, you can't be serious!?"
96,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_110","Grrr... Now you call me <Emphasis>Shirley</Emphasis>!? No matter─give it to me! GIVE IT TO ME!"
97,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_112","This spear and I have traveled together to the very heavens! I will not relinquish it again!"
98,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_113","This spear and I have bested many a man together! <Emphasis>I</Emphasis> will not relinquish it again!"
99,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_114","Then we are at an impasse..."
100,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_116","I-I can't believe I'm saying this, but...well done, Inspector!"
101,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_100_116","Thanks to you, we've caught the weapon thief in the act!"
102,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_117","M-Miss Ellie, you are grossly misreading our dispute. Greg is a good, honest man, who I am certain has never stolen a weapon in his life!"
103,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_118","Indeed, I have not! Every weapon I have claimed was by rights mine!"
104,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_120","Each was a trophy for besting my opponent in single combat!"
105,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_121","I believe that constitutes a confession. Seize him."
106,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_122","A confession to what!? I have done naught wrong! Bah, you all are beyond reason!"
107,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_123","Aaah! Yes, my plan to secure Greg's confession was utterly flawless, and his capture will be the coup de grâce!"
108,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_124","Well, <Emphasis>my</Emphasis> plan is thus far flawless. Griffin Crossing is still impassable."
109,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_125","I know who you are, even if that imbecile doesn't, so let's not mince words. Only you have the skill to face the duelist in battle."
110,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_126","Even so, your strength alone will likely not suffice. I suggest you muster what allies you can."
111,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_140","Lest you find my advice unsporting, I remind you that our duty supersedes any misbegotten notions of honor you may possess."
112,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_141","Which way did he go, <Split(<Highlight>ObjectParameter(1)</Highlight>, ,1)/>!? Did you see?"
113,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_142","...His name isn't really “Greg,” is it?"
114,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_150","Nashu? Miss Ellie? ...Ah! My good <If(PlayerParameter(4))>woman<Else/>man</If>, it is a relief to hear your footfalls!"
115,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_151","As you have doubtless deduced, I was unable to prevent Greg from escaping through the doors. I must leave the rest to you!"
116,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_160","Yes, it was <Emphasis>I</Emphasis> behind these doors the whole time! You took so long to arrive, I was getting worried you might have gotten lost!"
117,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_161","Long did I wonder what your role in this play was. A silent guardian, content to watch events unfold with minimal interaction. At the last, I understand─we were fated to duel, you and I!"
118,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_162","Best me, and you may have the spear. Fail, and your weapons are forfeit! Fair terms, do you not think? I will even extend them to your allies. Aye, I grant you leave to summon others. After all, it will avail you no advantage, heh heh..."
119,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_163","For Gilgamesh... It is embiggening time!"
120,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_170","Do not worry about me, my friend! I shall─nnngh─extricate myself in due time!"

125,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_301","In any case, he seemed satisfied with the halberd. We will proceed with the delivery."
126,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_310","If you wish to be present, I won't object. Meet me in Vesper Bay."
127,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_315","<groan> Why, Greg, why...?"
128,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_320","Are you dead again, Inspector?"
129,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_330","How many swords did he drop while─ Wait, doesn't that one there look just like Eleazar's sword?"
130,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_331","But...even to my untrained eye, this is obviously a counterfeit blade. And so is this one, and this one! What in the world...?"
131,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_404","Ahhh... 'Tis more magnificent than I imagined. 'Twill make a fine addition to my collection..."
132,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_405","And with that, our business is concluded. Cheers."
133,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_100_405","I genuinely mean that in your case, by the way."
134,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_406","All's well that ends well, right, Inspector? Though it's a shame that Greg turned out to be the thief."
135,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_407","There you are, Inspector Briardien! Why did you not wait for me at the docks?"
136,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_408","Hm? Why are you all staring at me so? Oh, never mind that─where is my Treaty-Blade?"
137,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_409","But...didn't we just give you the Treaty-Blade?"
138,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_411","Disguise yourself as the client and let the Treaty-Blade come to you..."
139,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_412","Take advantage of an existing situation to distract us from the real crime. Brilliant."
140,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_413","The man in red never spoke of the Treaty-Blade─only the halberd."
141,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_414","Moreover, he always issued his challenges in person..."
142,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_415","Dear gods, isn't it obvious? What is it like in your funny little brains? It must be so <Emphasis>boring</Emphasis>."
143,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_416","...If the man in red did not send the challenge, then who did?"
144,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_417","I believe this is addressed to me, <Emphasis>condescending</Emphasis> Inspector Briardien."
145,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_418","Piss off."
146,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_419","“Four hundred years have I slept, one thousand faces do I wear. What is yours will be mine. I shall come to claim the lapis maiden's virtue.”"
147,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_420","A many-faced phantom thief. Interesting."
148,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_421","The design and the wording are the same as before. The thief who stole the TreatyBlade sent this!"
149,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIENHILDIBRAND_000_422","cut"
150,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_422","Very well! I─and I alone─Hildibrand, agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire, once more accept your challenge!"
151,"TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_100_422","You want a challenge, huh? Stand and face me, you buffoon!"

4 0 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_00 Inspector Hildibrand would have you accompany him to Coerthas.
5 1 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_01 Having received the blessings of Lady Durilda and Inspector Briardien, Inspector Hildibrand wishes to depart for Coerthas at once. Journey to the Observatorium and seek out any sellswords in Lady Durilda's employ.
6 2 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_02 Hildibrand quickly identifies one of Lady Durilda's sellswords, though the man is quick to deny the inspector's assertions. Inspector Briardien subsequently appears and explains the situation, much to the sergeant's chagrin. Recognizing you to be the most competent member of your party, the sergeant then asks that you assist one of his subordinates near the Observatorium's east gates.
7 3 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_03 The snows of Coerthas can play tricks on one's eyes, as you soon observe. While the sellsword watchman ventures outside to investigate something suspicious, Inspector Hildibrand nearly mistakes Gilgamesh for the thieving duelist. Electing to search a different area, Hildibrand and Nashu wander off. Follow them and see if their search yields anything of interest.
8 4 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_04 Ellie astutely observes that Inspector Hildibrand is unlikely to find the duelist <Emphasis>inside</Emphasis> the walls of the Observatorium. Survey the wilderness east of the Observatorium with the inspector and his assistant.
9 5 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_05 Fate can be ever so cruel. Distraught at being misunderstood by those whom he had come to trust, Gilgamesh flees to the south as Hildibrand gives chase─and so must you.
10 6 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_06 Outside the gates to Griffin Crossing, you find an incapacitated Inspector Hildibrand. ※Battle on the Big Bridge can be accessed via the Duty Finder. 11 7 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_07 Declaring that you have received a sufficient beating, Gilgamesh withdraws without claiming your weapon. Inform Inspector Briardien of all that has transpired.
12 8 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_08 Annoyed by yet resigned to Gilgamesh's escape, Inspector Briardien deems it safe to proceed with the Treaty-Blade's delivery. Proceed to Vesper Bay so that you may be present for the occasion.
13 9 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_SEQ_09 Lady Durilda gleefully accepts the Treaty-Blade and takes her leave─only to appear a second time inquiring as to the whereabouts of her weapon. Despite failing to protect the Treaty-Blade, it would seem Inspector Hildibrand achieved an arguably more worthwhile measure of success.

52 48 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_000 Allow me to summarize our current plan of action! Our destination is the Observatorium, and our mission is to pose as goodly smallfolk, in accordance with Inspector Briardien's instructions.
53 49 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_001 Naturally, should the situation demand improvisation, we are to disregard those instructions. Any questions? No? Then let us sally forth at once!
54 50 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_010 My redoubtable confederate! You are an experienced traveler, are you not? Why don't you lead the way to Coerthas?
55 51 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_015 That damnable demon bird continues to elude me, but no longer! Soon I shall claim my revenge and weapon both...
56 52 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_020 Hail to thee, fellow servant of justice! I take it you are one of the many tasked with transporting a counterfeit Treaty-Blade?
57 53 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_021 ...Clearly, you've mistaken me for someone else, sir.
58 54 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_022 At ease, Sergeant. They're with us─more “smallfolk.”
59 55 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_023 Keep an eye on them. Or else.
60 56 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_024 B-But, sir, I─ ...Bugger me. B-But, sir, I─ ...Bugger me.
61 57 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_100_024 Don't you bloody move until I get back!
62 58 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_025 I say, is this land always so inhospitable? The biting winds, the endless snows...
63 59 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_025 Mayhap keeping active will help me to stay warm. Oh, and should I chance to find the thieving duelist, I will of course summon you─after administering the requisite beating, hah hah!
64 60 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_026 Good, you're still─ Hm? Wasn't there someone else with you a moment ago?
65 61 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_027 Ah, you speak of Greg! He ventured outside the gates mere moments before your arrival, full eager to catch the thief─as are we! Come, Nashu! We too must answer the call of duty!
66 62 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_028 ...You look like you might actually be useful. Why don't you have a word with my man near the east gates? We're undermanned over there.
67 63 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HEISHI01318_000_035 Remember: we're looking for a brute in red who wields a halberd. You see the bastard, you come to me─no heroics. We take him together, understand?
68 64 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_040 Any halberd-wielding mummers shall answer to me!
69 65 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_MIMAWARI01318_000_50 Ye see that just now? No? Hmmm...
70 66 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_MIMAWARI01318_000_51 I don't think me eyes were playin' tricks on me, but there's only one way to be sure. You wait here.
71 67 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_52 Inspector! Over there, look!
72 68 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_53 What is it, Nashu!? Pray tell me what you see!
73 69 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_54 Ah hah! I see you, demon bird! You will not escape me this time!
74 70 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_54 Why, hello there, my friends! Is aught amiss?
75 71 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_55 Oh, it's just Greg! For a moment, I thought you might have spotted our thief. Come, Nashu, we have lingered here overlong. We must egress posthaste!
76 72 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_065 Hm. There is naught out of the ordinary here either...
77 73 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_066 No luck, hm?
78 74 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_067 We have scoured every ilm of this area to no avail. I can only conclude that, having learned that his opponent was to be the legendary inspector Hildibrand, the duelist renounced his criminal ways and retreated into hiding.
79 75 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_068 Or perhaps he is waiting patiently <Emphasis>outside</Emphasis> the walls for more wagons to leave? That being said, should you decide to venture into the wilderness, you had best arm yourself with more than your...wits.
80 76 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_069 I appreciate your concern, Miss Ellie, but a gentleman should abstain from violence unless absolutely necessary.
81 77 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_070 I'll fight for you, Inspector! I even found a weapon to use!
82 78 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_071 By the Twelve, is that the selfsame spear which propelled me to the red moon!? Wherever did you find it?
83 79 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_72 It was buried in the snow!
84 80 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_073 Well, one cannot ignore the will of destiny! Return it to me, Nashu!
85 81 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_074 Though I will still endeavor to avoid fisticuffs, I will be duly armed should worse come to worst. Now then─we begin our search for the duelist to the east of the Observatorium!
86 82 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_070 Come now, how hard can it be to find a large man dressed in red in <Emphasis>Coerthas</Emphasis>?
87 83 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_075 Take your post, my good <If(PlayerParameter(4))>woman<Else/>man</If>, and entrust your safety to me! Inspector Hildibrand is ready for battle!
88 84 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_080 Cor, it's cold out here!
89 85 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_100 ...Wherefore art thou, my nefarious nemesis?
90 86 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_101 'Twas not the selfsame creature, but one of many. Nevertheless, I <Emphasis>know</Emphasis> that my weapon is close by.
91 87 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_102 You sense it, too, don't you?
92 88 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_105 Greg, I've been meaning to ask─why do you covet this weapon so?
93 89 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_106 If you but beheld it, you would understand. In some ways it bore resemblance to a spear, but in other respects it was quite different.
94 90 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_106 It was crowned with a magnificent axe blade...
95 91 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_110_106 To which was welded a musket barrel...
96 92 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_107 'Twas one of the first weapons I added to my collection after arriving in these lands. Ah, how I yearn to reclaim it─the strongest of spears!
97 93 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_108 That weapon of yours bears a striking...a striking resemblance to...to...
98 94 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_100_108 The strongest of spears!
99 95 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_109 I-I claimed this weapon five years ago! Surely, you can't be serious!?
100 96 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_110 Grrr... Now you call me <Emphasis>Shirley</Emphasis>!? No matter─give it to me! GIVE IT TO ME!
101 97 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_112 This spear and I have traveled together to the very heavens! I will not relinquish it again!
102 98 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_113 This spear and I have bested many a man together! <Emphasis>I</Emphasis> will not relinquish it again!
103 99 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_114 Then we are at an impasse...
104 100 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_116 I-I can't believe I'm saying this, but...well done, Inspector!
105 101 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_100_116 Thanks to you, we've caught the weapon thief in the act!
106 102 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_117 M-Miss Ellie, you are grossly misreading our dispute. Greg is a good, honest man, who I am certain has never stolen a weapon in his life!
107 103 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_118 Indeed, I have not! Every weapon I have claimed was by rights mine!
108 104 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_120 Each was a trophy for besting my opponent in single combat!
109 105 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_121 I believe that constitutes a confession. Seize him.
110 106 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_122 A confession to what!? I have done naught wrong! Bah, you all are beyond reason!
111 107 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_123 Aaah! Yes, my plan to secure Greg's confession was utterly flawless, and his capture will be the coup de grâce!
112 108 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_124 Well, <Emphasis>my</Emphasis> plan is thus far flawless. Griffin Crossing is still impassable.
113 109 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_125 I know who you are, even if that imbecile doesn't, so let's not mince words. Only you have the skill to face the duelist in battle.
114 110 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_126 Even so, your strength alone will likely not suffice. I suggest you muster what allies you can.
115 111 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_140 Lest you find my advice unsporting, I remind you that our duty supersedes any misbegotten notions of honor you may possess.
116 112 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_141 Which way did he go, <Split(<Highlight>ObjectParameter(1)</Highlight>, ,1)/>!? Did you see?
117 113 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_142 ...His name isn't really “Greg,” is it?
118 114 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_150 Nashu? Miss Ellie? ...Ah! My good <If(PlayerParameter(4))>woman<Else/>man</If>, it is a relief to hear your footfalls!
119 115 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_151 As you have doubtless deduced, I was unable to prevent Greg from escaping through the doors. I must leave the rest to you!
120 116 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_160 Yes, it was <Emphasis>I</Emphasis> behind these doors the whole time! You took so long to arrive, I was getting worried you might have gotten lost!
121 117 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_161 Long did I wonder what your role in this play was. A silent guardian, content to watch events unfold with minimal interaction. At the last, I understand─we were fated to duel, you and I!
122 118 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_162 Best me, and you may have the spear. Fail, and your weapons are forfeit! Fair terms, do you not think? I will even extend them to your allies. Aye, I grant you leave to summon others. After all, it will avail you no advantage, heh heh...
123 119 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GILGAMESH_000_163 For Gilgamesh... It is embiggening time!
124 120 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_170 Do not worry about me, my friend! I shall─nnngh─extricate myself in due time!

129 125 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_301 In any case, he seemed satisfied with the halberd. We will proceed with the delivery.
130 126 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_310 If you wish to be present, I won't object. Meet me in Vesper Bay.
131 127 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_315 <groan> Why, Greg, why...?
132 128 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_320 Are you dead again, Inspector?
133 129 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_330 How many swords did he drop while─ Wait, doesn't that one there look just like Eleazar's sword?
134 130 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_331 But...even to my untrained eye, this is obviously a counterfeit blade. And so is this one, and this one! What in the world...?
135 131 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_404 Ahhh... 'Tis more magnificent than I imagined. 'Twill make a fine addition to my collection...
136 132 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_405 And with that, our business is concluded. Cheers.
137 133 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_100_405 I genuinely mean that in your case, by the way.
138 134 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_406 All's well that ends well, right, Inspector? Though it's a shame that Greg turned out to be the thief.
139 135 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_407 There you are, Inspector Briardien! Why did you not wait for me at the docks?
140 136 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_408 Hm? Why are you all staring at me so? Oh, never mind that─where is my Treaty-Blade?
141 137 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_409 But...didn't we just give you the Treaty-Blade?
142 138 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_411 Disguise yourself as the client and let the Treaty-Blade come to you...
143 139 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_412 Take advantage of an existing situation to distract us from the real crime. Brilliant.
144 140 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_413 The man in red never spoke of the Treaty-Blade─only the halberd.
145 141 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_414 Moreover, he always issued his challenges in person...
146 142 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_415 Dear gods, isn't it obvious? What is it like in your funny little brains? It must be so <Emphasis>boring</Emphasis>.
147 143 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_416 ...If the man in red did not send the challenge, then who did?
148 144 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_417 I believe this is addressed to me, <Emphasis>condescending</Emphasis> Inspector Briardien.
149 145 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_418 Piss off.
150 146 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_419 “Four hundred years have I slept, one thousand faces do I wear. What is yours will be mine. I shall come to claim the lapis maiden's virtue.”
151 147 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_000_420 A many-faced phantom thief. Interesting.
152 148 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_ELLIE_000_421 The design and the wording are the same as before. The thief who stole the Treaty–Blade sent this!
153 149 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIENHILDIBRAND_000_422 cut
154 150 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_422 Very well! I─and I alone─Hildibrand, agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire, once more accept your challenge!
155 151 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_BRIARDIEN_100_422 You want a challenge, huh? Stand and face me, you buffoon!
156 152 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_MARIA_000_423 Ahahahahahaha!
157 153 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_424 How dare you all laugh at a time like this, after allowing my precious Treaty–Blade to be stolen!
158 154 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_100_424 And you, Maria─
159 155 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_425 ...Well, I suppose it is a little funny, isn't it? The two of them dashing to and fro─a pair of gentleman mummers.
160 156 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_DURILDA_000_426 Ahaha... Ahahahaha! You know, it's been far too long since we've seen a show. We should head into the city later─just you and me... Ahaha... Ahahahaha! You know, it's been far too long since we've seen a show. We should head into the city later─just you and me...
161 157 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_GODBERT_000_427 Not bad, Hildy, not bad at all. You are indeed a Manderville man.
162 158 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_428 <huff> <puff> Mark...mark <Emphasis>my</Emphasis> face, O phantom of many faces! For it is the...the face of the...of the... <huff> <puff>
163 159 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_500 The fiend dares lay claim to the fair maiden's virtue!
164 160 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_501 As seeds of jealousy quicken within an inspector's soul!
165 161 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_502 Can true love bloom on this battlefield?
166 162 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_HILDIBRAND_000_503 Will this Manderville man find his Manderville wife?
167 163 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_504 Hey, what's with the goggles those men were wearing? They look special!
168 164 TEXT_CHRHDB204_01318_NASHUMHAKARACCA_000_505 Maybe if I ask nicely, they'll give me a pair? I guess we'll find out next time!
