Instead of doing the searching on their own, they often come to a local guild or similar organization to have their petition documented.

Leve plates are, in effect, passes which grant their bearers “leave” to perform various actions which might otherwise be prohibited, such as the eradication of beasts, admittance to restricted areas, and more.
