1311What Transporting EntailsCertain duties require the transporting of items to a designated location. While carrying out such tasks, use of actions will be restricted, and you will be granted the **Transporting** status effect. You must be wary of attacks, as they will sap your strength.86902
1412Losing the Transporting StatusYou will lose the Transporting status when the effect duration expires or you change areas. In such cases, you may return to the starting location and begin anew.86903
1513What Transparent EntailsDuring certain duties, you may gain the **Transparent** status effect, which restricts available actions but allows you to pass by most enemies undetected. Use this invisible state to reach your destination before the effect expires.86904
1614Losing the Transparent StatusYou will lose the Transparent status when the effect duration expires or you change areas, causing nearby enemies to detect you and preventing quest progression. You may return to the starting location at any time to refresh the duration of the Transparent status. If it has already expired, it will be granted anew.86905
1715What Escorting EntailsCertain duties require that one or more NPCs accompany you in order to proceed with quest objectives. You must keep them at your side and make your way to a designated location.86906
1816What Escorting EntailsSo long as you remain in the same area, NPCs accompanying you will remain at your side even when using Teleport or the Aethernet. It is possible to ride mounts or swim while escorting NPCs. Please note, however, they will not appear at your side until you dismount or leave the water.86906
1917What Escorting EntailsYou may also speak with NPCs while escorting them. Furthermore, you may encounter “conversation points” along the way which offer additional topics of discussion. These points will also be indicated on your map.86907
2018Parting Ways with NPCsWhen speaking with NPCs, you will be given the option to part ways. You will also part ways automatically when changing areas. If you part ways with an NPC, you may return to the starting point and speak with them to try again.86908
2119What Following EntailsCertain duties require you to follow an NPC to a designated location. Should you fall too far behind, the NPC will return to the starting point, and you must speak with them to try again.86909
2220What Sneaking EntailsCertain duties require you to follow an NPC and approach without being seen. Should you be detected, you must return to the starting point and try again.86910
2321Avoiding DetectionThe indicator shown in the image above indicates that you risk being seen should the NPC you're following turn around.86911
2422Avoiding DetectionThe indicator shown in the image above indicates that you risk being seen should you be standing too close to the NPC.86912
2523What Transformation EntailsCertain duties require you to transform into creatures or other people, restricting available actions. These transformations only last a limited time, indicated by the **Transfiguration** status effect.86913
2624Losing the Transfiguration StatusShould the Transfiguration status effect expire, or you stray too far from the objective, you will be returned to your original form. You may return to the starting location at any time to refresh the duration of the Transfiguration status. If it has already expired, it will be granted anew.86914
2725What Guises EntailCertain duties require you to don a disguise to complete quest objectives. You may only remain disguised for a limited time, indicated by the **Guise** status effect.86915
2826Losing the Guise StatusShould the Guise status effect expire, or you stray too far from the objective, you will lose your disguise. You may return to the starting location at any time to refresh the duration of the Guise status. If it has already expired, it will be granted anew.86916
2927What Guarding EntailsCertain duties require that you escort an NPC to a designated location while guarding them from enemy attacks. Should you stray too far from the NPC or they are attacked, they will stop moving.86917
3028Failing to Guard an NPCThe escort attempt will fail if the NPC is incapacitated, you stray too far from them, or you change areas. In the event of failure, you may return to the starting point and try again.86918
3129Step One: Accumulate 100 TPTo grasp the fundamentals of working with familiars, first try to complete an instinctual combo with your Cu Sith. Familiars accumulate TP via their auto-attacks, and beastmasters accumulate TP by completing weaponskill combos. Once you and your Cu Sith each have 100 TP, you are ready to perform an instinctual combo.86919
3230Step Two: Complete the Instinctual ComboOrder your Cu Sith to perform its **Trick**. Then, **within seven seconds**, execute the beastmaster action **Avalanche Axe**. This will complete a **Rampant** instinctual combo! You may complete instinctual combos with any familiar, and may trigger different actions depending on the skills used.86920
3331Working in TandemBy working together, a beastmaster and their familiar can chain **instinctual skills**, which expend TP, to complete special combos that deal additional damage. Either a beastmaster or their familiar can be first to strike, but the combo must be completed **within seven seconds**.86920
3432That Striking Dummy's Always Looking at Me...Attacking a striking dummy will pull its attention and engage you in combat. When you have finished practice, target the striking dummy and select **Reset Striking Dummy Enmity** via the subcommand menu to put it to rest.86920
3533Step One: Accumulate 100 TPTo extend your knowledge of working with familiars, first try to complete an intentional combo with your Cu Sith. As with instinctual combos, beastmasters and their familiars will each need to accumulate 100 TP. Complete beastmaster weaponskill combos and let your Cu Sith auto-attack until you both have 100 TP.86919
3634Step Two: Complete the Intentional ComboOrder your Cu Sith to perform its **Trick**. Then, **within seven seconds**, execute the beastmaster action **Mistral Axe**. This will complete a **Moonstalker** intentional combo! You may complete intentional combos with any familiar, and may trigger a different action depending upon the skills used.86921
3735Instinctual AffinitiesThe four basic instinctual affinities are as follows: **Volant**, **Rampant**, **Durant**, and **Eldritch**. Both beastmaster and familiar skills possess these affinities, and understanding the impact they have on one another is crucial to advanced beastmastery. Instinctual affinities can be confirmed in a weaponskill's help text, or may be intuited from the icon. When instinctual affinities are connected in a certain order, they complete the aforementioned **intentional combos**, which in turn have two additional instinctual affinities: **Moonstalker** and **Sunstrider**.86924
3836MoonstalkerGaining the effect of **Moonstalker** requires chaining the following instinctual affinities: ・**Rampant** → **Durant** ・**Eldritch** → **Volant** Your Cu Sith's **Trick** has a **Rampant** affinity, so when completed with **Mistral Axe**, it triggers a **Moonstalker** intentional combo.86922
3937SunstriderGaining the effect of **Sunstrider** requires chaining the following instinctual affinities: ・**Volant** → **Rampant** ・**Durant** → **Eldritch** So long as instinctual affinities are performed in the designated order, it does not matter whether a beastmaster or familiar strikes first. In this case, since your Cu Sith's **Trick** has a **Rampant** affinity, preceding it with the beastmaster action **Gale Axe** will complete a **Sunstrider** intentional combo.86923
4038Step One: Accumulate Stacks of Mastered InstinctTo perfect your synchronicity with your familiars, first try to complete an infinitive combo with your Cu Sith. Spending three stacks of **Mastered Instinct** when executing **Rally** will instantly grant you 250 TP. You will need this later, so first accumulate three stacks of Mastered Instinct by completing instinctual or intentional combos with beastmaster skills. **Your Cu Sith must attack first to accumulate stacks of Mastered Instinct.**86925
4139Step Two: Complete a **Moonstalker** Intentional ComboWith three stacks of Mastered Instinct on hand, it's time for an intentional combo. Order your Cu Sith to perform its **Trick**, then execute the beastmaster action **Mistral Axe** to complete a **Moonstalker** intentional combo. **From this point, you will have seven seconds to complete the infinitive combo.** Move with haste!86921
4240Step Three: Use Rally to Accumulate 250 TPExecute **Rally** to spend all three stacks of Mastered Instinct and instantly gain 250 TP. Reaching 250 TP will change your four instinctual skills to those with affinities of **Sunstrider** or **Moonstalker**.86926
4341Step Four: Complete the Infinitive Combo (Universality)Since you gained the effect of **Moonstalker** in step two, you must execute either **Brutal Rage** or **Risen Fall**, as both weaponskills have a **Sunstrider** affinity. **An applicable action must be executed within seven seconds of completing the previous intentional combo.** In other words, chaining the instinctual affinities **Moonstalker** and **Sunstrider** (or vice versa) will complete a **Universality** infinitive combo!86927
4442To Summarize...1. Accumulate three stacks of **Mastered Instinct**. 2. Complete a **Moonstalker** intentional combo. 3. Use **Rally** to gain 250 TP, thereby changing your beastmaster instinctual skills. 4. Execute an instinctual skill with a **Sunstrider** affinity. You may complete infinitive combos with any familiar and initiate with either **Moonstalker** or **Sunstrider** affinities. In other words, illuminating your entire Inner Compass will achieve **Universality**.86927
4543Mastering BeastmasteryInfinitive combos are considered the pinnacle of cooperation between beastmaster and familiar, as they unleash the potential of both **Sunstrider** and **Moonstalker** affinities. The infinitive combo **Universality** is the most potent attack in a beastmaster's arsenal, so advanced practitioners are encouraged to bring this power to bear when facing challenging foes.86927
